Insecticidal Activity Research
Pesticides play a very important role in agricultural production. The use of chemical pesticides for pest control, such as the new nicotinic pesticides imidacloprid and acetamiprid, is prone to moderate and above resistance. Plant-derived insecticides, on the other hand, have the advantages of high efficiency, greenness, and safety, and are an effective way to reduce the use of pesticides. Lifeasible can screen plant extracts with high toxicity and insecticidal activity to help you develop plant-derived pesticides, green pest control, and pesticide reduction.
Our Services for Insecticidal Activity Study
Extraction of Insecticidal Active Substances from Plant Extracts
Plant extracts contain a variety of secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, etc., some of which have been shown to have insecticidal effects. We used ultrasonic extraction to extract the active substances from the plants, and the insecticidal activity of the plant extracts against the target pests was determined using the insect and leaf dip method. We can determine the insecticidal activity of the extracts to screen out the plant resources that meet the target and provide you with the best extraction method to improve the extraction efficiency of the active ingredients and provide technical support for the development of plant-derived pesticides.
Separation of Insecticidal Active Substances in Plant Extracts
Silica gel H was used as the stationary phase, and we used wet column loading and dry sampling for three-column chromatographic separations. Thin-layer chromatography was used to detect the combined flow fractions with the same Rf value, which were labeled with UV light and iodine.
Determination of Insecticidal Active Substances in Plant Extracts
- Determination of insecticidal activity. We used the growth rate method for the assay.
- Determination of the toxicity of plant extracts against aphid. We used the direct infusion method for the determination of toxicity.
- Determination of the toxicity of plant extracts against locust. We used the leaf dipping method for the determination.
- Determination of acaricidal activity. We can provide research on the effect of acaricidal active substances of plant origin on the physiology and cell structure of pest mites. We can also use molecular biology methods to study the effect of acaricidal active substances of plant origin on the protein activity and gene expression of pest mites and to find the real target protein.
The active ingredients of plant-derived pesticides are secondary metabolites in plants, which are environmentally friendly, safe for non-target organisms, not prone to resistance, have specific modes of action, promote crop growth and disease resistance, are diverse, and have many avenues of development. Lifeasible can isolate and purify new substances with pesticide activity from plants, and help you use these lead compounds as structural templates for multilevel structural optimization to create new pesticides with high efficiency and low toxicity.
